Cross JC Cowboy Horses is a family operation that has had generational roots in the horse industry for many years. Jeff and Carol Hogner and their family have been involved all of their lives with horses. Carol grew up in east Texas and her father Harold Durmon introduced her to horses at a very young age. Harold would come in from a hard day’s work on the ranch he would put Carol on “Ole Dusty” and Carol thought she was just getting to ride a little before he put the horses away, she realized later that she really was helping, she was cooling out the horses for him!

Jeff grew up on a horse and cattle ranch in the Oklahoma panhandle ran by his grandparents Willard and Alta Mae Jones; he lived with them each summer helping primarily with the two hundred head of horses. Then he turned thirteen, he and his parents moved next door and the horse business has been in his blood every since. The family horses have won a futurity in reining, an AQHA High Point working cowhorse, AQHA World Show top ten placing in team roping heeling and working cowhorse, an AQHA Champion, a 90 Speed Index on the track and Grand Champions at halter. These family horses also have competed in hunter hack, hunt seat pleasure, pleasure driving, western pleasure, western riding, trail and calf roping.

Jeff and Carol are also the founders of Joshua Cowboy Ministries and Young Pro Training Camps and their travels bring them in contact with a lot of horsemen, breeders and competitors. A good many of the broodmares reflect breeding acquired from these contacts or their purchases where influenced by the knowledge gained from these friends and contacts.
