It is through the blood of our broodmares that we plan on producing a diverse group of foals that will be able to compete in the many disciplines of the western world. Through speed, agility, and good minds we believe that our foals can meet your needs in the arena. Our broodmare band carries the bloodlines of Doc Bar, through Doc O Lena, Dry Doc, Boon Bar, Doc's Jack Frost, Doc O Dynamite and Doc's Last Chance. To round out the cow horse lines we also have Colonel Freckles and Gay Bar King on the registration papers of our mares. To cover the speed horse end of our program, the following sires all appear on our mares' registration papers: Dash For Cash, First Down Dash, Bully Bullion, Real Easy Jet, Rocket Wrangler, Three Chicks, Jet Deck, Go Man Go, Leo, Special Effort, Hot Colours, Oklahoma Fuel, Truckle Feature, Frosty Feature and Duplicate Copy. To complete the performance and foundation breeding we also have the following stallions represented: Mr. Gunsmoke,Tiger Leo, Frenchmans Guy, Driftwood Ike, Drifts Chip, Blue Light Ike, White Lightning Ike, Wilywood, Orphan Drift, Cee Booger Red, The Ole Man, Two Eyed Jack, Watch Joe Jack, Harlans Tyree, Wyoming Blanton, Red Mark Blanton, Snippys Cowboy, Zan Parr Bar and Dick Sonoita.

Our replacement fillies are our future. We are breeding for our future broodmares and we are also purchasing a few, as we find the conformation, bloodlines and color that will enhance our breeding program. We wanted to place these young mares on our site so that our clients and friends can see the future of Cross JC Cowboy Horses. These fillies are not for sale, keep an eye on our "Horses for Sale" page for any fillies we may be offering to the public.

| SILKY FORM |
Silky is one of our better mares. She not only brings a great disposition to our program, she is a direct granddaughter of the immortal sires, Three Chicks and Tiger Leo. Each of these great sires brings size, speed and athletic ability to their off-spring. She has great conformation and is the dam of one of our other broodmares Gun Smokes Chick, making her the grand dam of our junior stallion Smokin With Ability. Tiger Leo became very well known for producing daughters who produced pleasure horse champions, many have forgot that he sired an N.C.H.A. Reserve World Champion cutting horse, Lonsum Tiger and a A.C.H.A. World Show Champion cutting horse, Legendary.

| WOMANLY WAYS DRIFT |
Drifty is a mare we purchased from the Wyoming Blanton Enterprises sale. She is a daughter of the famous Drifts Chip who stood for years at the Four Sixes Ranch and now stands at Mel Potter’s ranch in Arizona. She has produced some great broodmares for Stuart and Sam Hoar’s breeding program as well as some really nice geldings. She brings in two lines of the great Driftwood breeding and her dam is a granddaughter of the prolific sire, Two Eyed Jack.

| DOCS SAVANNAH ROSE |
Savannah is a new mare we purchased from Darrel Taylor’s great breeding program. We were excited to be able to purchase a granddaughter of Boon Bar out of a granddaughter of the legendary Leo. Boon Bar is also the grandsire of Rich Skelton’s PRCA Heel Horse of the Year “Roany.” Miss Lewata Bar, Savannah’s dam, brings together the famous cross of Leo and Three Bars that produced multiple track, cutting and arena champions.

| WATCH DADDY BEAU BLU |
Bows, is one of our more recent purchases, we found her in Minnesota and brought her in before the 2006 breeding season. She brings good size, bone and depth of body to our program. Her pedigree brings us three lines to Two Eyed Jack, one to Beau Bonanza and one to Harlans Tyree. Bows also brings in a great disposition along with her conformation.

| STAIN GLASS |
Joy was a gift to our daughter Halee and so far she has produced one really nice grulla colt, which has speed, quickness and looks. Joy was on the track and bowed a tendon, she was then laid up and put in to barrel horse training and again had an injury and was retired to be a broodmare and they roped some on her as well. Her sire, Proudest Effort SI 104 is becoming one of Special Effort’s most prolific sons. Proudest Efforts get have won in excess of $5,000,000 on the track! We believe that Joy’s off-spring will have the outstanding speed required to compete in any arena event.

| ONE YELLOW HARLEY |
Harley was one of our very first purchases when we started building our band of broodmares. She has size, color, disposition and athletic ability and has apparently past those attributes to her first two foals. She brings Harlan, Zan Parr Bar, Hank, Hancock and three ties to the old King Ranch sire, Macanudo.

| BULLIONS DASHIN KAT |
Kat came to us through Rock and Danita Thompson’s breeding and training program in South Dakota. After just twenty-one saddlings we were riding Kat in the Arizona desert and mountains and she performed like a seasoned trail horse. At that time we were between arenas and had no place to train, so we went ahead and got her in the broodmare band. She was Carol’s favorite ride while we were enjoying the Arizona landscape. She has produced two nice foals and both have been red duns. Those foals have great dispositions and appear to be very athletic. Her pedigree is full of great race horse ancestors and she should put a whole lot of speed in her babies.

| GUN SMOKES CHICK |
Chick was acquired from Scott and Dori Lund’s program in Tennessee. She was wire cut as a youngster so they did not put her into their reining or roping program. She is by the deceased family sire, Shorty Smoke, a son of the great Smoke 49. Her dam Silky Form, brings speed and athleticism from the Three Chicks and Tiger Leo lines. We ride Chick between her foals and she is a joy to ride. Because of her disposition and good looks, she was used to in a video production for an upscale country housing development. Her first foal, Smokin With Ability, is now one of our future sires.

| CLASSICAL DRIFTWOOD |
CD was a surprise find and a very pleasant one! We decided not to spend some budget funds on an outside stud fee and to acquire a new broodmare. We selected another mare, but we could not get this mare off of our minds. Our son Josh really liked her picture and we decided to partner with him on CD. She carries Doc’s Jack Frost and Snippys Cowboy (twice) on her papers. The great Orphan Drift brings the Driftwood line to her pedigree! She has a great body with an exceptional head and neck and she should cross well on any of our stallions!

| CONQUEST FOR CASH |
Cash was our very first purchase of our broodmare program. We bought her through the Wyoming Blanton Enterprises and Paul Tierney production sale in 2001. She is out of Jess Tierney’s great gray mare Tough Conquest, who has produced some of their good calf and barrel horses. Tough Conquest is a granddaughter of Dash For Cash. She is sired by Paul and Robin’s athletic sire, PTS Frosted Feature, who is by the great Frosty Feature, out of the Dash For Cash granddaughter De Blitz. This makes Cash a double bred Dash For Cash mare. Her first foal is by our stallion Stinger and she has produced a really nice buckskin colt.

| FRENCH CASH FIRST |
Frenchie is a young mare we purchased from Bud Williams because of her conformation and pedigree. Since then we have watched Bud and son Taylor rope and compete on her half brothers all sired by Frenchmans Bullet, the stallion that Brian Fulton stood prior to his acquiring the Streakin Six son. Bud sold him to Brian and now has him back. Frenchmans Bullet is a son of the great barrel race producing sire Frenchmans Guy, making him a grandson of the all-around producing sire, Sun Frost. Frenchie is out of Lazbuddies First, a granddaughter of Dash for Cash and Rocket Wrangler and is mentioned above.

| SHS BLULIGHT COWGIRL |
Cowgirl brings a great performance line of California Driftwood breeding to us. She is sired by Espuela Cowboy, a son of Blue Light Ike. Blue Light Ike and his sire, White Lightning Ike (son of the great Driftwood Ike) have sired many great rope horses on the west coast. We are blessed to have a young mare with this type of sire, out of a daughter of Red Mark Blanton. Red Mark is a great all-around performance horse and has won many rodeos as a heading horse. At nineteen years of age, Stuart and Sam’s seven year old daughter is winning her age group barrels on him at junior rodeos. Red Mark has sired many great rodeo and ranch horses, one being Desperado who sold for $17,000 in their 2004 sale. This brings the great foundation bloodlines of Lucky Blanton and Driftwood through great performers to this young mare. In 2004, Cowgirls dam, Blanton’s Jubalie, produced the top selling filly at the Wyoming Blanton Enterprises Annual Production sale. We believe that Cowgirl, with her body, size and heritage will be a great producing mare.

| SHS LADY BLANTON |
Lady is a young mare with a great heritage. She is a full sister to Stuart and Sam Hoar’s young stallion SHS General Blanton. Lady’s dam had a severe wire cut and spent most of her pregnancy on heavy antibiotics, Lady was born and you could see the affects of the medicine. We know that she carries great genetics and we took a chance and purchased her. As her full brother gains in the roping arena and as a producer we know we made a good choice.

| SHS MISS WEST ROSE |
Westy brings a great pedigree to our breeding program. She was injured and was given to us by Stuart and Sam Hoar. We believe that Westy will bring color, heritage and foundation to her off-spring. By combining the Drifts Chip line with the Red Mark Blanton line we expect great babies from this young mare.

| SLOANS BIT OF CANDY |
Cross was the best looking foal we saw in the fall of 2004 and we were told that she was not for sale. The following year they had a full sister to her and during halter breaking Cross sustained an injury to her neck and we were asked by the Kolkas if we would be interested in her. We bought her and she left Montana and headed to Texas. As you can see, she is intensely bred Doc Bar and she was our first opportunity to get some Doc O Dynamite breeding crossed on the Snip Of Colonel line.

| GAY BAR REBECCA |
Becca is one of the best looking two year olds we have ever owned. We purchased her at Darrel Taylor’s production sale as a weanling. Her dam is a granddaughter of the famous sire Gay Bar King. Her sire DT Gray Crusader is producing some really nice athletes with thickness, pretty heads and great minds. We like her so much we acquired another by her sire in 2005.
